Facilities
At its founding in 1974, Moore Observatory of the University of Louisville hosted a 20-inch or 52-centimeter diameter locally built telescope. It was retired two decades later, replaced by a 24-inch or 0.6-meter state of the art Ritchie-Chriétien reflector that remains in use today. Other instruments were added to the Shared Skies facilities at Moore, then at Mt. Kent in Queensland, Australia, and at Mt. Lemmon, near Tucson, Arizona.
