The University of Southern Queensland's Mount Kent Observatory was developed as a dark sky site for teaching astronomy. It currently hosts a multi-telescope Minerva Australis array for spectroscopy and photometry, telescopes of Stellar Oscillations Network Group (SONG), and USQ-Louisville telescopes for remotely accessible education, training, and research.

UniSQ's Shared Skies Partnership with the University of Louisville provides live remote-access observing using 0.5-meter and 0.7-meter aperture telescopes, and a wide-field camera. The partnership is used for research, research training, education and outreach, and enables access to northern skies via Moore Observatory in Kentucky.
